About Us
The Tompkins Employees Federal Credit Union (TEFCU) is organized to serve people who live, work and/or own a business in Tompkins County. As a community based financial institution, owned and operated by our members, our purpose is to provide financial advice and competitive priced line of financial products and services, while at the same time maintaining and building an adequate capital base. TEFCU will strive to provide all members with excellent financial services regardless of the member’s financial status. TEFCU will continually play a leadership role in the communities it serves by providing high quality, personal services in a friendly environment.
Mission Statement
TEFCU’s goal is to provide our membership with a sound alternative for financial services, and maintain a commitment to the highest standard of member service, member satisfaction, and financial responsibility.
History
Tompkins Employees Federal Credit Union created its’ Charter in 1976. It began with the intent that every member pitched in to loan each other money- that the organization forged its way of business forever.
Even today, we continue to pursue those same ideas and principles by which this Credit Union was based, and we remain as committed to our members as we did since day one. The resulting value for our membership has been a shared level of trust, continuous innovations to products and services, top-of-market rates, and exceedingly excellent member service.
As a member of Tompkins Employees Federal Credit Union, you can be assured we’ll never lose sight of our biggest value: looking out for you—like family. Now and into tomorrow.
